Meet Maureen Dermody

Certified Chopra Wellness Coach, Ayurveda Health Teacher, Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher

 Due to the pandemic in 2020, I had to retire early from a thirty-year career that I loved in the Corporate Meeting & Events Industry. I developed stress to the point of having anxiety, insomnia and digestive issues. I worked with my doctors and did not have any success with medications. During this time, I received an invite to join a zoom meeting with the Chopra Institute, a world-renowned leader in the field of mind-body health and wellness. The Chopra Center was started by Deepak Chopra, a licensed physician. He started the Ayurveda Health Center.

I signed up for the meditation and Ayurveda Health enrichment courses to see if I could improve my health. 

As a result, I learned my dosha/mind-body type is Pitta. I learned how to make changes based on my dosha to nutrition, movement, sleep, meditation, emotions, and self-care.  I had so much success with these practices, I thought why doesn't everyone do this.

I decided to go to the Chopra Institute and studied to become an Ayurvedic Health Teacher, Primordial Sound Meditation Teacher, and Chopra Wellness Coach. The work I did on myself with my Chopra Mentors during the programs was transformative. My new life of Ayurvedic health and meditation keeps me grounded, graceful and happy every day. When I’m out of balance and don’t feel this way, I now have the tools to get back to being balanced.

Ayurveda Health Session

Ayurvea is a system for lifelong well-being based on the timeless notion that the human body, mind, and spirit are attuned to nature. When this attunement is maintained through conscious choices in everyday life, the healing response of the body-mind itself is reinforced.

According to Ayurveda the cornerstone of health is achieving mind-body balance. However, that isn't as simple as it sounds. Ayurveda offers specific guidelines, practices, recipes, and remedies to enable you to achieve this balance. On top of that, the guidelines vary for each person and even change throughout the year, across the seasons, and throughout your lifespan. Its sounds complicated, but it is life-changing wisdom that is definitely worth knowing for life-long well-being.
